Spotlight Caribbean Kitchen in Toronto

I gave them 5 stars originally and now dropped to a one. They constantly give the wrong food. The head chef is rude she argued over the fact that I didnt want chicken foot in my chicken soup. Then she told me that a callaloo pattie was the same as a veggie pattie. I'm friggin allergic to callaloo. I will never go there again.

Really good Jamaican food. I usually come here for the lunch specials for about $6 + pretty cheap considering the food they give you! Love their dumplings and curry goat sauce!The ladies who work there are really friendly!

I really wanted to give no stars but it won't allow. I bought some breakfast from this restaurant ackee'n'saltfish with food , y did the dumpling almost choke me from it being so dry & they barely put any ackee with the food. I didn't even finish the food I just throw it away.

First time ordering take out and would not order from here again. For one, how do 2 rotis and 1 fish end up being $50? Second, I'm a vegetarian, I specifically asked for one vegetarian roti, come home and both rotis were chicken. So didn't end up eating it. Not impressed at all.

Fantastic Atmosphere, very pleasant and inviting hosts, and amazing home made food. Try the porridge, dumplings and festival, delicious and filling.

Favorite Jamaican spot. Love the food here especially breakfast. The staff is very nice too. Totally recommend you check them out.

Can't think of anything here that you shouldn't try. Catch a early ackee and saltfish breakfast and I can assure you you'll be back for lunch.. and dinner, lol.

Well, Google wants me to review the Spotlight Caribbean Kitchen, but I was never there. We went to a Afgan restaurant a few doors away. Some people went to the Caribbean place so its probably ok. The Afghan place was ok too, but I prefer Al Meezan's Spicy Grill up the street. I don't have photos of the food, but the chicken kabobs were very tender and I brought some rice home. Anyway, I've included some photos of the floors I just installed in my house.

Took my wife and I a longtime before deciding to visit the place but glad we finally did. Food smelt great as you walked in and tasted even better. Good price and they also sell alcohol if just wanting to stop by for a drink etc.

Just had goat roti and plantain .. roti was served on the side which a pleasant surprise .. the goat was well cooked not too many bones .. it was tasty and not salty .. plantain was ok nothing special .. service was mediocre not pleasant but not rude .. my meal was approximately $15 that included a bottle of waterToday I tried the large oxtail dinner .. good size portion although a little salty for me .. person at the counter was more polite but failed to get the order correct .. so sad

I am new to the GTA, from a small town with plenty of restaurants, but not much authentic Caribbean food. Very fair prices here, for good portions of quality cooking. This place is great, especially if you consider yourself a fan of some good chicken.

The jerk chicken and the chicken curry roti are so tasty and flavorful! The staff are friendly and service was what was expected of a resturant. If you want quality food for a good price, come here!

Ya Man! Great authentic Jamaican Food. Would definitely recommend if you are in mood for Jamaican Flavour. Had jerk chicken and rice with the jerk chicken gravy on top. Also make sure to try their hot sauce. Would definitely recommend.

Food is pretty good but their service unfortunately does not match seems if you're not Jamaican or west indies they dont seem to pay much attention or be very bothered of the fact that theres another customer waiting to order while their busy having a conversation with their friends than to serve another customer.

I don’t understand why the reviews are so good I guess half of u making reviews have NO IDEA how real authentic Jamaican food should taste, or my taste buds are different from y’all because the food tastes bad! Been here twice.The jerk chicken is a disgrace to how jerk chicken should actually taste not to mention the fry chicken. This is not a good place to get REAL Jamaican food. Definitely will not be going back

By far my favorite Caribbean restaurant with savoury traditional dishes such as jerk chicken, curry goat, oxtail and a lot more. I like the fact that they list their prices inclusive of tax. Highly recommended!
